Is the Source for the GP Cloud Server Going to be Released?

Post by Calloway » Jun 16th, '18, 17:42

Hello,
I was just wondering if the source for the cloud server would be released?
I don't see any downsides to this and it would lessen the load on GP's server plus it would allow for people to run their own servers which means that it's more secure (in a way).
Especially since GP lost funding this would decrease the amount of spending used on inodes or I/O (although I'm not sure if that is being at expense)

I really hope that GP is a lot more open so that more can be developed onto it by the community :/
Anyhoo, I was just wondering if the cloud will ever be open for people to use (unlike Scratch...)

GP doesn't currently have a cloud server for sharing user-created projects -- although that would be great!

However, I suggest you look at the Snap! cloud server, created by Bernat Romagosa:

Oh no no I mean for the cloud variables (unless this is also what you're referring to?)

Under Working with GP you should find the topic "How to build my own cloud-data-server?" maybe this helps. There is a CloudDataServer.gp in the lib folder.
