If you open a project that uses shared variables and then create a new project, these shared variables are not removed and still appear in the new project.

By the way, since you said the authoring environment may change a lot, should we still be reporting bugs in the UI or should we just wait for the next version?

Yes, please report bugs in the authoring environment. Some of us will be using the current version with users, so it's helpful to know about bugs (and fix the worst ones, at least) as we go along. For example, this bug would be great to fix in the short term.

FYI, we're working on v041; hope to have that out by the end of this week. It will include a few bug fixes and also some performance improvements.
