[Linux] search box for blocks doesn't work

Post by MSandro » Mar 10th, '18, 22:21

Hi, next bug I've found on linux :D
I can't use the search box to find blocks. I type a letter, it appears, I type the next letter and the first letter disappears.

Again Ubuntu 17.10 and GP v079, all 64 bit

Do I have to install any libraries to use GP on Linux or am I doing something wrong? If not:
Suggestion, please setup a VM with a new Linux distro like Ubuntu 17 or Fedora 27 and play around with GP and check it all the way through! I think there are many more issues.

The search box works too in Xubuntu 18.04 but not in Ubuntu 17.10, don't know why, it's a bit crazy.

In Zorin OS 12 Lite (Xfce) it works fine too!

This isn't actually a bug in GP. The problem arises from duplicated and out-of-order keyboard events on a few specific Linux desktops, which is why it only shows up on a few Linux systems. The Gnome desktop seems to be a common factor, but other desktops could also have this issue.

I added workarounds to compensate, so starting with v081 the search box should work again even on Linux desktops that have those keyboard event issues.
