Re: [Linux] problems with several linux desktop environments
I think I've tracked down the issues with: - exploring as an app - localizing the "Documents" folder However, I haven't yet been able to reproduce the issues with arrow, tab, and return keys or the search box. It might be that I don't have the same versions of Linux you've been testing. I tested: Ub...

Re: [Linux] problems with several linux desktop environments
While you're testing things, could you test "export to app" to see if that is also specific to a particular Linux? It's probably unrelated to the keyboard issues but it could be related to the localization of the "Documents" folder.
Thanks for all this testing!

Re: [Linux] problems with several linux desktop environments
This is extremely helpful information! Thank you! I will try to reproduce the problem on a Gnome or Mate Linux. It sounds like there are are two independent issues: 1. certain key events are repeated (arrow keys, return, backspace, ...) 2. GP is not localizing the folder path "Documents/GP" I unders...

Re: Suggestion for the GP stage
The current stage ratio is 16:10, which is one of the standard display ratios between the the old 4:3 ratio and the HD 16:9 ratio. That ratio gives a little more horizontal space for scripts when you're writing code so it seems like a reasonable compromise. Eventually, it would be nice to allow a ch...

Re: suggestions for the forum-structure
Excellent idea! I've just set this up. I separated "Tips" and "Tutorials". I think a "Tip" should explain a single idea that can be done in a single step, such as "Entering Developer Mode". In contrast, a "Tutorial" would typically involve a number of steps.

Re: .mp3 files
As MSandro says, MP3 files are not yet supported.
As you probably know, there are online MP3->WAV converters, but I realize that's not convenient if you want to deal with many MP3 files.

Re: [v079] Script variables and instance variables overlap.
Thanks for this and your other recent bug reports. Unfortunately, the research lab I was working for lost their funding. We'd already lost Jens Mönig in a transition about 18 months ago and with the latest change we lost Yoshiki Ohshima. It's now down to just me, and I've been having to spend a lot ...

Re: [v78] Freezing
Thanks for reporting this problem.
This was actually a redisplay bug (only on Window), also reported by SimpleSi. It should be fixed in v79.

Re: [example]Reading files one byte at a time
Thanks for the example!
Yes, if "read byte" returns nil, it means you've gotten to the end of the file.

Hooray! Will leave this thread up for a while longer, then mark as "fixed".
